Description of the Product
Because of the increased incidence of resistant pathogenic bacteria in humans and animals a ban on the use of all antibiotic growth promoters is anticipated in animal production. Against this background Sinta Gesellschaft für Tiergesundheit mbH, working together with Messrs. Veyx-Pharma GmbH undertook to apply intensive research activities towards the development of alternative solutions. To this end various aromatic herbal mixtures and specifically the oils contained therein were investigated in order to test their potential as performance enhancers and for stabilising the gut flora. From the combinations tested the aromatic herbal oil mixtures proved to be particularly effective, containing the specially chosen component oregano with its principal components Thymol and Carvacrol.
As the active ingredient content of herbs fluctuates widely, amongst others it is dependent on the variety and the area it is grown in, the emphasis for developing the product lay with standardising the components. The development of the market ready supplementary feed product Sinta® Bion P 200 involved the inclusion of special herbal components from controlled production procedures that comply with the demands in terms of achieving a standardised compilation. In addition to the aromatic herbs the product contains further finely tuned components that work together in harmony enhancing the efficacy of their appetite and digestive stimulating role.
Application / Feeding Advice
Through feeding the product the following aims are achieved:
 | Protection for the gut mucosa against the proliferation of bacteria and the absorption of toxins through the effects of tannin. |
| Producing unfavourable living conditions for the pathogenic organisms through the aromatic herbal oil mixture. |
| Promoting the growth of dietetically friendly gut bacteria (e.g. Lactobacillus, Bifido strains, Bacteroides and Eubacterium species) through Inulin (dried Jerusalem artichoke juice concentrate) |
| Promoting digestion through stimulating the secretion of pancreatic enzymes. |
| Stimulating feed intake through an improvement in the aroma and flavour via natural substances |
